Assam Black Tea

£ 3.99
Assam tea is a classic black tea produced in the India's northeastern state of Assam. This black tea produces a rich, full-bodied amber-colored drink with a malty flavor that is slightly softened by its delicate honey notes. It is composed of finely twisted leaves with occasional golden, downy tips. Assam tea presents a strong taste that is highlighted by its malty sweet aroma. Perfect with or without milk.
1 heaped Assam tea spoonful of tea per cup add freshly drawn boiling water and infuse for up to 7 minutes. Perfect with or without milk.
Assam is the largest tea growing area in the world, where 2,000 gardens can produce almost 450,000 tons of tea each year. Assam tea accounts for about 55 per cent of India's total annual production. Assam is a vast and beautiful area of dense forests and open rolling plains through which the mighty Brahmaputra river runs, carrying rich fertile soil down from the mountains of Tibet to the agricultural plains. Exceptionally high rainfall (sometimes exceeding 10m in just one season) produces a very humid enviroment comparable to being inside a vast greenhouse - consequently the plants thrive, producing a tea which is very different to Darjeeling.

More than ….

It has a very good flavour for a green tea. Light, yes…. But some real middle and and just a tiny bottom tea flavour … more than the usual notes -
The first large brew was shared with 4 others and rarely have I seen arms so eagerly reaching for the pot, good colour and scent.
